Hello, and thank you for reviewing my page.
I hope to reassure you that my 30-year career in wellbeing and social care enables me to engage creatively, sensitively, and respectfully as a therapist
Whilst I work with a wide range of client concerns and issues, my main area of specialisation is with gender and sexual diversity and with eating disorder and body image matters.
As part of my own training and personal development I have encountered and continue to undergo intensive psychoanalysis, 3 times weekly. This, alongside regular supervision, is to hold in check that my professional practice is focused, solid, and evolving.
If you are feeling overwhelmed at the thought of beginning therapy or just unsure please do contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree from Birkbeck, University of London, a PG Diploma in the psychodynamics of human development from the British Association of Psychotherapists, a teaching qualification PGCE, from the University of East London, A PG Certificate from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust in counselling in educational settings. I undertook the PG Certificate at the Institute for Group Analyses and the qualifying clinical PG Diploma in psychodynamic practice at the University of Oxford where I recently submitted my MSt (Master of Studies) dissertation at Kellogg College, Oxford.
I have worked in mental health care in a range of capacities, including being a mentor in several universities across London. I am a university and college lecturer and a trainer in the fields of psychology, health, counselling, and social care. I am also a personal development group facilitator for counselling trainees.
I have worked for 3 years as a therapist with MIND in Islington and am currently working on a reduced fee basis at the Farringdon Practice in Clerkenwell as well as from my own practice at home.
