Dr Gislene Wolfart - DPsych CPsychol AFBPsS
Oxford Mind & Body
28 Beaumont Street
I am a qualified Psychologist Specialising in Psychotherapy with several years’ experience of working within the NHS and privately with clients aged 17 and over. I have experience of working with a wide range of conditions and I specialise in the treatment of eating disorders.
During my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, I specialised in the Psychodynamic Approach. There I also trained in the application of Person Centred Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) addressing a variety of conditions. I subsequently attended further training including CBT-E (a type of CBT specific for eating disorders), Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT), and MBT-ED (a specific MBT adaptation for eating disorders).
Having expertise in a variety of psychological approaches enables me to tailor therapy to suit your needs. I am particularly interested in the use of attachment models in the treatment of mental health and life difficulties (such as Mentalisation Based Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy) whilst also appreciating the importance of gentle/problem based coaching in order to achieve change such as in CBT. I also have a keen interest in mindfulness.
I am a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, the independent government appointed regulator of psychologists in the UK) and BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Together these registrations mean you can expect high standards of psychological knowledge and expertise, as well as a commitment to good professional development. High ethical standards are also an integral part of psychotherapy.
If you would like to book a session to discuss therapy further please call or email me so that we can arrange an initial meeting. Should you reach my voice mail please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I am available. Subsequent sessions can be delivered face-to-face or via Skype. Deciding to start therapy can feel daunting and we can discuss any concerns you have in more detail at our first meeting.
Lastly, I am the Lead Psychologist for Oxford Mind & Body, and I can re-direct you to a suitably qualified professional even if I am not able to help you on this occasion.
