About me

Hi and welcome to counselling. Safely we can securely explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that challenge you, finding positive ways to move forward and get back on track. Supervision is available for supervisee's.

About me. I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, with extensive experience using the full range of integrative therapies amongst both young people and adults. Supervision of both group and individual sessions are part of my way of working.

I believe that all of us are a unique individual, shaped by our past and present experiences and that exploring them in a safe environment can be the key to unlocking our potential and getting the most out of our lives.

What is counselling? Counselling involves a series of sessions exploring your thoughts, feelings and emotions. The basis for subsequent therapy would use integrative methods, which
* are person-centred - the needs of the client drive the direction of the therapy
* are psychodynamic - flexible to meet the changing needs due to the clients exploration of his or her situation
*use cognitive behavioural therapy - a realistic and achievable solution is developed and implemented that addresses the issue.

Our goal is to help you, the client, feel more positive about yourself and the future, with your needs at the centre of the therapeutic conversation. I believe that successful counselling is about finding the right blend of therapies, tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each client to ensure that therapy is a positive experience.

Supervision follows the exploration of the counselling work in an ethical and creative manner allowing for a safe space of insights to be forthcoming.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
