You may be considering counselling because of a major life event such as a bereavement, or because you are stressed and anxious due to work pressures, but you may also find yourself struggling and overwhelmed but without really understanding why? I believe that you know yourself better than anyone else, even if at times you may feel as if the world no longer makes sense.
I know that talking about what is troubling you can be difficult, even with those close to you, which is why the most important part of my work is the relationship between my clients and myself. In order to build this relationship I work with empathy, openness, honesty and acceptance. My approach is tailored to the individual needs of each unique client. I will incorporate different therapeutic tools and to help my clients achieve their aims. Gaining your trust and providing a safe environment to explore your feelings will provide you with the opportunity for personal growth or healing.
I am an experienced counsellor and qualified supervisor who is a member of the BACP. I currently work for Macmillan Cancer Support within a large NHS Trust as well as running a small private practice in the Wilmslow area.
