I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist with over 15 years' experience in helping people make real changes in their lives. My private practice is located in Central London (Victoria), where I provide both short-term and longer term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples from many different backgrounds. As an Integrative Psychotherapist I am able to draw on a number of different approaches, including CBT, mindfulness and EMDR. This enables me to tailor my work to the individual needs of each client to help them make the changes they want in their lives as quickly and easily as possible.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety and panic attacks, anger management, depression, stress and issues at work, relationship difficulties, phobias and OCD, addictive or problematic behaviours, loss and bereavement, eating disorders, trauma and sleeping problems.
I do offer an initial, no obligation, free 20 minute telephone consultation for those considering therapy with me. This gives you the opportunity to speak to me and ask any questions you may have before booking a full face-to-face assessment session with me. Please feel free to contact me on 07931 868972 or via email at email@example.com to arrange your free consultation.
I have a limited number of daytime appointments at a reduced rate for students/trainees/low waged. Please contact me for details and availability.
For further information regarding my practice, please visit my website at www.psychotherapylondon.org.uk. In the meantime, I am happy to answer any questions you have by phone (07931 868972) or email and will endeavour to reply to you within 48 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I originally trained and practised as a Solicitor in the City of London, after gaining a degree in Modern History at Manchester University.
In the early 1990s I then studied Psychology and gained a Dip Psych from the Open University whilst still working as a lawyer. Following this, I decided to train as a Psychotherapist and embarked on a five year part-time training as an Integrative Psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute. I completed my Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with Merit and became a Registered UKCP Psychotherapist and finally left the law behind!
Since qualifying, I have undergone further training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR and Mindfulness approaches, which have now become a part of my Integrative practice.
I have over 15 years' experience of working as a therapist with a variety of individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, seeking help for a wide range of issues and problems. I have considerable experience of working with clients for whom English is not their first language. I myself have lived and worked overseas in several different countries.
In particular, my previous career as a Solicitor in Central London and The City has given me a real understanding of the stresses and demands of professional and corporate life, as well as the need for balance between sustaining a successful career and a fulfilling personal life.
I have worked in many and varied settings, including the NHS, Employee Assistance Programmes, Domestic Violence projects as well as private practice.
