About me

At times in our life, we may struggle with our thoughts and feelings and it can be difficult to know which way to turn for help. Reaching out to a therapist is the first step, although this can be daunting with the right help there comes the opportunity for growth and improved well-being. I feel strongly that many of us do not live our lives authentically and are being true to ourselves, instead, we adapt to society, family and friends in order to feel accepted and to fit in. Through exploration, reflection and understanding we can free ourselves to truly live our life authentically.

I offer a professional and confidential counselling/psychotherapy service where together we can look at the difficulties you are experiencing in a safe and non-judgemental space.

What type of therapy

I am an integrative counsellor having trained in many modalities of counselling; however, my core training is Person Centred Theory.  I incorporate Psychodynamic Theory, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy into the work we may do together so that your individual therapy suits your individual needs and simply put allows me to draw upon a number of theories to help me gain a better understanding of you, in the past and in the present. This enables you to make sense of past choices and your relationships, helping you to move forward in your life.

I am able to see clients at my beautiful peaceful private practise in Kings Langley which has easy parking.

What happens?

At our first meeting, we will discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to achieve from working together.  I can also answer any questions you may have and if you decide we are a good fit and would like to enter into counselling with me we can then arrange a suitable time to meet each week.

Sessions

I offer short-term and long-term therapy, sessions will last for one hour. Time slots are flexible according to your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
