About me

Would you like to talk to someone who will listen to you? Are you feeling stuck, unhappy or wanting to make changes in your life but you are not sure how?

At times our feelings can cause us distress in our relationships at home, at work or socially. Within a warm and supportive space, we can explore difficult feelings and situations that you might be unwilling or unable to discuss with family members or friends.

Prior to training as a counsellor I gained over twenty years experience working with both corporate and entrepreneurial organisations and fully understand the pressures and demands of business and the workplace.

My qualification from the Minster Centre, London is in integrative counselling. This means that we can explore any current challenges you may have as well as making meaning of your past and early experiences. Integrative counselling can help you to establish a healthy balance between mind and body.  This, in turn, may enable you to develop a stronger sense of resilience, awareness and empowerment.

Central to my work is the collaborative relationship we build together creating trust and compassion and am experienced in working with people seeking help with:

* Anxiety or depression
* Dating and relationship problems or divorce
* Lack of confidence or low self esteem
* Abuse
* Workplace and business problems

I offer walk and talk therapy surrounded by nature in Clissold and Finsbury Parks as well sessions online via Zoom, FaceTime or the telephone. Please feel free to contact me to discuss in confidence.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Minster Centre, London, one of the oldest and most respected integrative training courses in the UK. These qualifications are accredited by Middlesex University.

My training has required me to be in personal therapy for six years and I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their guidelines and code of ethics.

Prior to training as a counsellor I gained over twenty years experience working with both corporate and entrepreneurial organisations and am aware of the pressures and demands that business can bring.

I have counselling experience within the NHS and am a volunteer for a mental health charity in North London.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
