About me

I offer a safe supportive and non-judgmental environment that enables couples to reconnect and rebuild their relationship especially when communication and trust have broken down; where there is conflict or where the partners are struggling with painful and uncomfortable feelings. Therapy can help you to resolve some of the problems you are currently experiencing and to make informed decisions about the future.

I also see individuals who may be struggling to find the right partner or who seem to be unable to maintain relationships. Perhaps a relationship has recently ended and you are struggling to make sense of it and to move on.

You may also want to talk about something without your partner being present.

I also work with separating and divorcing couples and individuals, enabling them to separate in a healthy and constructive way and to move forward with their lives.

Where there are difficulties in the sexual relationship or where problems around sex are preventing you from forming relationships,  I offer an integrated programme of therapy to resolve any underlying relationship or other issues - combined with a course of behavioural therapy comprised of a series of exercises which the couple or individual undertake(s) at home between sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a highly qualified and experienced relationship and psychosexual psychotherapist working in private practice in Central London; Camberwell South East London and online using Zoom.

I see couples and individuals regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.

I am a senior accredited member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such I am bound by their Codes of Ethics.

I trained and qualified at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships in London (now Tavistock Relationships). I was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Couple Counselling and an MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy (with Distinction)

I have previously worked as a visiting clinician, trainer and as an academic tutor at Tavistock Relationships.

I undertake regular supervision and a programme of continuing professional development.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
