About me

Welcome.

I am a psychologist and psychotherapist committed to offer therapy in a safe, confidential and a non-judgmental environment. I work with a relationship based approach, committed to show warmth, acceptance and empathy and a focus on you and your story.

Do you find yourself feeling stuck? Repeating patterns that are not particularly helpful but you are unsure how to change them.

Therapy can be a challenging but satisfying journey that can help you to understand yourself better, to grow, to learn, to be more responsive to your environments, to learn how to interrelate and to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.

My work involves to help you explore difficulties that may be causing you distress and to make changes in life that you feel would be beneficial. It can also provide an opportunity to become more aware of yourself and your 'place' in the wider world. You may wish to explore a specific issue or you may have a more general feeling of discontent or distress. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, or having difficulties at work place or with personal relationships.

Whatever your issue, I commit to offer a safe, confidential and a non-judgmental space where we can explore the challenges and the opportunities in your life.

What to expect in your first meeting.

At times it might feel very daunting contacting a psychotherapist; however I seek to offer a warm, engaging and empathetic environment and a trusting therapeutic relationship. Being heard and understood is at times a powerful feeling.

In our first meeting I seek to gain a greater understanding of your presenting difficulties and to explore with you a therapeutic contract that would enable us to facilitate your journey towards a greater degree of self awareness and happiness.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in  Integrative Therapeutic Counselling.  I am a registered member of BACP and BPS. In addition I hold a PG Diploma in Psychodynamic Supervision by the WPF accredited by BPS. I adhere to the strictly code of Ethics both from BACP and BPS.

In addition to my private practice, I also work in the NHS, employed by Imperial Trust in Staff Counselling and Stress Management Service. In the past I have worked in the Counselling and Mental Health Team at a London University and I have managed and delivered group work for couples who transition to parenthood, aiming to improve couple communication, develop effective ways of parenting their children and improve satisfaction in their relationship.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative Psychotherapy is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies such as Psychodynamic, Person Centred, and Cognitive Behavioural Modalities.

Relationship Based Approach

Based on the idea that strong and fulfilling relationships with other individuals can help people maintain emotional well-being, this model may be beneficial to people seeking therapy for any number of reasons, but in particular to address long-term emotional distress, especially when distress occurs as a result of relational concerns.

As a therapist, I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is immensely important, thus I hope to facilitate a safe environment where you feel accepted, listened to and able to find your own voice.

In order to keep my practice rigorous and up-to-date I attend regular supervision. There I can reflect on my work and explore the best ways to serve my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
