Freedom Counselling Therapy
Hello and Welcome to Freedom Counselling Therapy. We are a small company offering a warm and friendly service for those seeking non judgemental counselling and support.
We integrate a number of styles of counselling into our practise including The Person Centred Approach, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Psychodynamic, working creatively and intuitively at a pace which you the client leads.
We believe in creating the right environment for you to achieve and reach your highest potential, overcoming hurdles and reconnecting with the real You. We believe that You the client have the answers already inside you to all of life's obstacles and/or decisions, which sometimes seem obscured by the effects of others choices and behaviours and at times even your own. However big or small we are here to support you.
We use a holistic approach acknowledging the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical impact upon how we are affected by and experience life.
We have first hand experience of living with chronic illness including Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and Lymes Disease and its limitations and frustrations and a passion to enable people to take back the power in their lives regarding their health.
We feel passionate about young people having access to counselling and its ability to provide a safe place to explore difficult emotions and circumstances they face and so we are also qualified in working with Children and Young People using creative techniques which is a more specialised area.
We have a very experienced counsellor in our team who specialises in Domestic Violence, Sexual abuse, and Trauma. We are members of the BACP and have supervision/insurance.

We have worked with a wide variety of ages from young children upwards incorporating the common life issues such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem, grief and loss to more specific focussed issues. i.e Self harm, abuse, trauma. These are a small example of some of the life issues we've worked with.
We have worked for a well known organisation/charity, working alongside women and children affected by domestic violence, either past or current, helping women to rebuild their lives and regain a sense of self, and managing challenging behaviours in children.
We were able to work within the local schools with children on a one to one basis using a range of creative mediums to allow troubled children to express feelings in a safe way. We have done NHS work for CAMHS ( Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
