My name is Francesco and I am a Chartered Psychologist and I offer psychological assessment and therapy in both Clapham South and London Bridge areas.
What you may be looking for
I am fully aware that seeking psychological help is not an easy task. You may be experiencing emotional distress, or someone – a friend, family, a doctor – may have suggested that you could benefit from psychotherapy; or you would like to become more aware of patterns in the way you think, feel and behave. Last but not least, you may simply want to know yourself better.
I hope that you will find what you are looking for in here.
My experience and expertise
I have experience in offering therapy to adults and older people suffering from anxiety and depression. My specialities are: obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder with tendency to excessive worry (GAD), specific phobias (such as, needle phobia, blood phobia, animal phobia, etc.), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression. I also work with anger, low self-esteem and relationship issues.
I have experience in working with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transsexual Queer population (LBTQ), and have helped people addressing sexuality, coming out, and relationship issues.
My therapeutic style
My approach to therapy is based on mutual respect and collaboration with my clients. I am able to use different psychotherapeutic approaches – such as CBT, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and Skills Training in Affect and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR)–either in their pure form or by integrating them, depending on your needs.
I can offer therapy both in English and Italian.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Neuropsychology, obtained at the University of Bologna (Italy). I also completed a doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City University London (UK). My rigorous trainings enabled me to become a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HPCP (Health and Care Professional Council) and a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the BPS (British Psychology Society). It is mandatory that practicing psychologists be registered with these two important bodies, which provide with high standards in delivering our interventions.
I have also successfully completed a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I have worked in the mental health sector in the NHS for the last seven years, and I am able to help with complex and chronic psychological issues.
