About me

Welcome to my page!

Please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Francesca and I am a qualified existential analytic psychotherapist and counsellor.

lol I am still currently operating a predominantly online and telephone based practice with the view of keeping my patients as safe as possible. This also allows for perfect accessibility for those who cannot make it to session in person and means that therapy can continue even if you or I are unwell enough to attend in person.

I have extensive experience working online prior to the pandemic so you can be assured that this is not new to me and that you are in safe hands regarding the different elements and challenges that online counselling can provide.

In regular circumstances I also work face-to-face and hope to resume this very soon.

I know how difficult it can be to find yourself on a page such as this from personal experience however, speaking directly from this experience, seeking therapy might just be one of the most beneficial things you could ever do for yourself.

Counselling provides a safe and confidential place in which we can explore problems or issues that might be affecting you, your relationships with others or your life in a wider sense.

My aim is to create a space in which you feel able to confide and trust in our combined ability to examine the areas of your life that you may be unhappy or dissatisfied with and look for solutions to these.

My belief is that the relationship and respect created between us is an invaluable element to the process and progression of your therapy and this is always at the heart of our work together.

As a practitioner I am fully aware that it can be intimidating to take that first step towards counselling, particularly if you are dealing with overpowering and difficult emotions. However, I do wholeheartedly believe that when you make that courageous move towards therapy, you are moving towards a greater understanding of yourself, personal development as well as the improvement and increased success in your relationships as well as healing past and present traumas.

If you are feeling as though something is getting in the way of your general contentment and success, do not hesitate to get in touch and we can see how we might work together towards a solution for a more positive outcome to these difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
