About me

Hi my name is Fiona and I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I work within their ethical framework and boundaries.

I see individual people and couples with various issues for example bereavement, emotional difficulties , depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts, abuse, self harm, divorce, anger, low self-esteem  to name but a few.

Therapy can be a support at difficult times in our lives and helps us to regain clarity. It is a safe and confidential space where we can work together exploring feelings and thoughts to gain better insight and understanding of ourselves and our emotional needs .Through the process of talking and listening therapy we can find emotional healing to ultimately ensure we live a more enriching and fulfilling life.

I offer a dedicated, compassionate, empathetic support in a safe non-judgemental space which is a strictly confidential environment to work through your presenting issues. My approach is sometimes based on the understanding that difficult past experiences can continue to effect the way we feel and behave in the present. However my approach is a holistic space for you to find answers  to uncover your true self and reach your own autonomy.

Understanding how hard it can be to make contact with a counsellor please feel free to call or email me in confidence so I can answer any questions or fears you may have. Alternatively we can arrange to meet for a one off session without commitment to explore your situation and to see if you feel that therapy would be beneficial to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
