About me
I am an experienced, qualified Counsellor in private practice. I am a Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I offer both short-term and open-ended Counselling in the centre of Salisbury.
I also offer Telephone Counselling and Online Counselling, which can be more suited to some people's circumstances, including disability, illness or caring responsibilities, living remotely, or moving between locations for business or personal reasons.
I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever issues are troubling you at this time.
People come to Counselling and Psychotherapy for many reasons, including addiction, anxiety, bereavement, coping with change, depression, ill health, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and work-related stress. It can help you gain a better understanding of how you feel, so you can begin to move forward in more positive, healthy ways.
My training is Integrative, which means it draws on a number of approaches to Counselling and Psychotherapy. This helps me to adapt our work to meet your specific needs. I also undertake Continuous Professional Development and receive regular Supervision, which supports me in the work we do together.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a Volunteer Counsellor within a local counselling charity. My previous experience includes volunteering as a Counsellor within a GP practice and a Bereavement charity, as well as working as a Support Worker for an organisation which helps vulnerable and marginalised people gain the independence they need to move on with their lives.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information
Once you have made contact with me, I will suggest that we meet for an initial session. During this session we will discuss what brings you to Counselling, your hopes and expectations, and how it will work in practice. Ultimately, this is an opportunity for us both to decide whether it seems appropriate for us to work together at this time. The cost of this session is £35.
Counselling usually takes place once a week, at the same time each week.
Payment for Telephone Counselling and Online Counselling must be made in advance of each session. The initial session will usually also take place on the telephone or online.
All sessions are 50 minutes.
When I work
I offer in person appointments in Salisbury, a short walk from parking, buses and the train station. I also offer Telephone Counselling and Online Counselling appointments.
