Fiona Rogers - Reg. MBACP (Accred) Humanistic Counsellor
St. Barnabas House
Counselling And Therapy Centre
I am a BACP Accredited Humanistic Counsellor.
I provide a safe space in which we can explore thoughts and feelings around past and current difficulties, offering one-to-one short and longer term therapy. I aim to meet you in an authentic way that encourages genuine dialogue, to explore the difficulties you are experiencing, which may lead to new understanding and healing.
Sometimes life can be a struggle - therefore it's not surprising that we may experience times when we feel stuck, confused, worried, anxious, depressed, isolated, empty or lost. We are throughout life in transition, ever-evolving beings, adjusting and adapting to life's experiences. So, there can be times when we may need the support of a therapist to look at our life situations, relationships, beliefs, ideas and how we are in the world - to explore these issues in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space.
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Humanistic Counselling and have training in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness interventions. I have also worked within Primary Care - (IAPT) Services as a Counsellor.
All sessions are confidential and I adhere to the guidelines set out by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.)
We would meet for an initial assessment and consultation to help you decide if this is the right approach for you. All sessions are pre-booked and paid for at the end of each session. You are welcome to contact me by phone or email if you wish to discuss things further prior to making an appointment.
I work from a well-established Counselling and Therapy Centre, where I rent a room. There is a reception area and comfortable waiting room. The Centre offers good transport links, to both rail and bus routes. There is some on street metre parking and a nearby car park, all within a short walk of the Centre. There is also disabled access for clients with mobility issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have accrued my counselling experience working within colleges of further education with adults and young people, children's services with parents, schools services with children, young people and adults and within Adult Primary Care (IAPT - Talking Therapies). I work from a Humanistic perspective, drawing upon my core modalities of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Psycho-synthesis, integrating CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness into my Humanistic approach. I work with what is uppermost for you and thereby integrate the modality that best fits your needs, attending and attuning in our meeting.
