St. Barnabas House
Counselling And Therapy Centre
I am a BACP Accredited Humanistic Counsellor.
Sometimes life can be a struggle - therefore it's not surprising that we may experience times when we feel stuck, confused, worried, anxious, depressed, isolated and lost. We are throughout life in transition, ever-evolving beings, adjusting and adapting to life's experiences. So, there can be times when we may need the support of a therapist to look at our life situations, in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space - to feel ‘met’ in a therapeutic relationship of respect and acceptance.
I offer one-to-one short and longer term therapy. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, loss, low-mood, abuse, family relationships, work related stress, panic and ageing.
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Humanistic Counselling and have training in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness. I work within Adult Primary Care (IAPT - NHS Stepped Care Model) as a Counsellor.
All sessions are confidential and I adhere to the guidelines set out by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.) All appointments are booked in advance. If you have any questions or would like to discuss things further, prior to making an appointment please contact me either by email or telephone.
I work from a well-established Counselling and Therapy Centre, where I rent a room. There is a reception area and comfortable waiting room. The Centre offers good transport links, to both rail and bus routes. There is some on street metre parking and a nearby car park, all within a short walk of the Centre. There is also disabled access for clients with mobility issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have accrued my counselling experience working within colleges of further education with adults and young people, children's services with parents, schools services with children, young people and adults and within Adult Primary Care (IAPT - Talking Therapies.) I work from a Humanistic perspective, drawing upon the core modalities of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Psycho-synthesis counselling, integrating CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness interventions into my Humanistic approach.
