About me

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, sad struggling with relationships? If so, then I offer you the opportunity to explore freely your thoughts and feelings in confidence and without judgement.

People come to see me to address a number of emotional difficulties and we work together to make sense of what may be underlying these experiences to reduce the symptoms. By attuning your understanding and awareness it can help to make changes.

As a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I am experienced in a wide range of emotional or relationship difficulties offering short and open ended individual and couple therapy.

Working together:

The relationship between therapist and client is very important and we start with an initial consultation, sometimes two or more, when you have an opportunity to talk in confidence about your concerns and emotions and a chance to experience how we might work together.

If we decide to work together, we generally meet once every week, on the same day, at the same time and regular sessions last 50 minutes.

Therapy can be helpful, stimulating and sometimes painful and challenging however, you don’t have to cope on your own. My aim is to support you to understand yourself better and to help you make changes.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience:

People come to see me for many different reasons and some of the things I can help with are: depression, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, work related stress, low self esteem, relationships, loss, bereavement, abandonment, sex, eating and self harm.

Additionally, I facilitate reflective practice groups and work as a coach and mentor.

In the past, I enjoyed working in Media and Corporate businesses at Board and Managing Director level and in the Charity sector as CEO and now as a Trustee.

Qualifications:

I trained at WPF Therapy, a leading clinic and institution in London and I am a member of these professional bodies:

  • British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
  • Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC)

I participate in continuing professional development programmes including regular supervision.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
