I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I provide psychological assessment and evidence based treatment, drawing upon up-to-date research findings. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
In addition, I am experienced in applying Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), as well as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approaches. I typically work with difficulties such as anxiety, phobias, depression, anger, bereavement, eating and body image issues, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, abuse, relationship problems and work stress. I have a particular interest in working with individuals living with or adjusting to, physical health problems.
I offer a confidential, individually tailored, psychology assessment and therapy appointments in Fife and Edinburgh. I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and working in a non-judgemental and compassionate way to achieve the best possible outcomes using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Training, qualifications & experience
Prior to doctoral training, I attained an M.A. Hons degree in Psychology from the University of St. Andrews, and held a number of posts in the voluntary sector and NHS. I have also worked for an Occupational Health service providing assessment and short-term interventions relating to workplace stress. I have assisted with the delivery and design of training programmes and research in occupational settings. Furthermore, I have experience working in a specialist service for eating disorders.
