Profile
First and foremost, I am a good listener, who wants you to feel comfortable in my company. It can be a big step for someone to ask for help and an even bigger one to talk about whatever is troubling you. My aim is to provide a safe and confidential environment for you to do this.
I am a qualified counsellor who mainly works from my counselling room in a house within walking distance from Llandaff, Danes Court and Fairwater in Cardiff.
I can also work from a dedicated counselling room in Fernhill, Mountain Ash, Rhondda, Cynon, Taff.
I am available for appointments on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays both during the day and early evenings.
My Cardiff counselling room is very close to Fairwater Railway Station and parking outside the house is always possible.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) which works to high ethical and professional standards and I was trained at The Family Institute, University of Glamorgan which runs a degree and Masters programme in Counselling both which are also accreditted by BACP.
I have worked for several years in Rhondda Cynnon Taf as an individual therapist working with adults and have also worked as a school's counsellor working with young people.
My professional approach is to work towards building a strong, reliable and safe therapeutic relationship, which then allows you to work to understand whatever is distressing you.
I have over 650 hours of experience of working with individuals of all ages and I know that looking at our lives from a Relational perspective can be extremely helpful and rewarding. It can help with bereavement, loss, trauma, difficult to shift habits and moods and also with intimate couple relationships.
