The Wilbury Clinic
64 Wilbury Road
I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor. I work primarily from a humanistic modality, incorporating other approaches and techniques depending on the needs of the client. I offer individual therapy to adults aged 18+ from a bright and comfortable consulting room in Hove.
I am an LGBT affirmative therapist. I have particular practitioner experience of working with issues related to domestic abuse, gender, sexuality and sexual orientation, young adults, life transitions, caring responsibilities, trauma and sexual abuse. I work from a position of intersectionality, seeking to understand the impact that multiple aspects of social/cultural identity impact on wellbeing and self-image.
My approach is flexible and will be adapted based on your individual needs. This can include working together short or long term, incorporating creative techniques into therapy, working in a open and exploratory way or designing sessions that are structured and focused on specific goals.
I am a registered member of BACP and abide by their ethical framework.
My counselling practice is supported by many years experience supporting people with complex vulnerabilities in the charity sector. I have extensive experience in the fields of domestic abuse and LGBT comunities, both as a practitioner and trainer/consultant. I have worked in several capacities with carers, people facing a range of mental health difficulties, offenders, young people and survivors of sexual abuse.
