Evelyn Baron-Richards Counsellor/Psychotherapist
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I'm a BACP registered and fully qualified Person Centred Therapist, with a private practice in a comfortable and private space.
I offer a non-judgemental, supportive practice that is confidential to help client's explore their feelings. It can be difficult to access emotions and to express them to someone you do not know. In view of this, it is important to me to provide the space and take the time to build a relationship with my clients to enable a trusting and genuine relationship.
I have worked with adults of varying ages with a variety of issues, from domestic violence, abuse, incest, rape, drink and drugs, relationship problems with families and work colleagues. Many bring issues such as anxiety and depression which affect their ability to manage and function in their normal everyday lives. Having someone to talk to, and hear you, can be very helpful to understand and resolve daily and long term concerns.
I have also worked with children and adolescents aged 11 to 18 years within the secondary school environment. In particular, I have worked with young people struggling with exam stress and bullying issues. Young people are under pressure to perform well in school and in exams as well as pressure in relationship issues with their friends and families.
I have many years’ experience working with children of all ages with self-harm and behavioural difficulties. Talking through these issues in counselling often helps to rebuild relationships, builds self-confidence and self-esteem and allows individuals to break negative cycles of behaviour.
