It is hard when you're not feeling at your best - whether it be a low mood, feeling vulnerable, anxious, or lonely - to even get through the day, never mind having a good one. Maybe you're not getting enough support, or even the right kind of support form your friends and loved ones. Talking to a counsellor is different, as it offers an alternative environment to everyday life, where you will be able to be your self - free from judgement - and experience being accepted and understood. Under such conditions, when enough trust is built, we will hopefully be able to explore your material and work through whatever is getting in the way of your well-being, while increasing your self-awareness.
I work relationally, and thus the therapeutic relationship becomes part of the therapy. The way we relate and interact with other people has an impact on us, and can enhance or hinder our wellbeing. Finding the right person to enter into therapy with is very important, and so as a first step I offer a free initial telephone consultation to help you decide if I am the right person for you to work with.

Each client is different and has different needs. With careful consideration I taylor my approach to use whatever elements from each orientation I deem more appropriate for each client's needs at the time. As these change, so does my approach. Above all I offer a warm and non-judgemental attitude to build a trusting and nurturing therapeutic relationship.
