Co-Director of Chrysalis Counselling Centre, Eva McAlea is a BACP accredited counsellor and has a Diploma in CBT. Eva is also a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and specialises in the treatment of Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder and weight management.

Eva also provides counselling for the treatment in Panic Attacks, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Phobias, General Anxiety Disorder as well as Confidence and Assertiveness training.

Counselling sessions take place in a comfortable, private room in Castlewellan as part of Chrysalis Counselling Centre.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Eva McAlea has a BA Hons in Applied Social Science (1996) and has a Diploma in CBT with Belfast Cognitive Therapy Centre (2002 - 2004) and has completed training at the National Centre for Eating Disorders, London with certificates in Practitioner Skills in Eating Disorders, Nutritional Intervention and Obesity and Weight Loss(2005 - 2007).

Eva has also trained and volunteered with 'Night-line' telephone counselling and The Samaritans and has been involved in working with mental health issues on both a voluntary and paid capacity for over 17 years.

Fees

Eating Disorder Treatment :
Initial Assessment lasts 60 minutes and costs £50.
Each further session costs £45
Sessions held from 9:00am until 8:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am -3:00pm

General Counselling:
Initial Assessment lasts 60 minutes and costs £45.
Each further session lasts 50 minutes and costs £40 9:00am - 4:00pm weekdays,
£45 4:00pm - 8:30pm week nights (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday),
£45 9:00am - 3:00pm on a Saturday.
