About me

Mrs. Esther Theresa Long

Every client is unique and needs different ingredients in what they hope to gain from therapy. I work with a range of theories which allow me to adapt to suit your needs. I work Psychodynamically exploring the past, to see how it is affecting the present. Humanistic, Person Centred and Cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT) Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) I integrate CBT as a means of exploring links between patterns of thought, emotions, behaviour and physical symptoms.

As you learn more about yourself, by deconstructing your maladaptive past thoughts, feelings and old behaviours you can then reconstruct and build your thoughts feeling and behaviour and make it how you want it to be in your relationships with others and with yourself, discover ways to improve your emotional well-being.

For example, you may come to therapy with a particular difficulty, a general feeling of sadness or a longing to understand yourself more. My approach helps to address present issues as well as considering how influences and experience from the past may be interfering with personal growth or affecting your ability to cope emotionally
