Esther Newall UKCP-Reg
I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst based in South Ealing near the tube station. I work with adults on a 1:1 basis, either short term or long term depending on your needs. My approach is integrative, which means I will draw on a range of psychotherapeutic styles in a way that suits each individual client.
In short-term work I often combine cognitive-behavioural and TA (Transactional Analysis) tools and techniques, alongside allowing plenty of time for listening and reflection. The benefit of this is that you will be able to use the techniques yourself after you stop coming to see me. This works well for people who generally have functioned OK in their lives but are experiencing difficulties now.
Longer-term (e.g. 6 months or more) therapy may be appropriate if issues are deeper or have been present for years. The relationship between client and therapist becomes very important in long-term work. Over time trust can develop and new ways of being become possible.
