About me

When you are troubled with anxiety, depression, feelings of anger it can be helpful to talk to someone who can guide you and support you through these difficult and often overwhelming feelings.

I have experience in a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, sexuality, sexual abuse, body image, anger, loss and issues around cultural adjustment. I am an integrative counsellor working in a transpersonal context.

Through regular weekly meetings I will help you explore your present situation and how it may relate to events from the past. This can be helpful in identifying underlying emotional patterns and issues that influence your current difficulties. Understanding these patterns gives you more choice and it can open up new ways of being in your life.

I offer you a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, and I will carefully listen to you and reflect back what I hear, see and feel so that you can eventually learn to reflect on your own. We can explore together who you are, where you come from, where you are at the moment and who you may become.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling awarded by the Middlesex University and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As part of my Continuing Professional Development I have attended a course on the Application of Mindfulness in Clinical Practice which I also use in my work.

I have worked with survivors of sexual abuse at the Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre.

I am a member or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by  their ethical framework. I'm in regular supervision with an experienced supervisor.

I am also a member of the Oxfordshire Therapy & Self-development Centre a community of counsellors, psychotherapists from a wide range of therapeutic modalities, offering a various forms of therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
