Erica Briley Counselling Service
22 Grosvenor Road
I have over 4 years experience working with young people as well as adults. My counselling experience includes private practice, Southampton University, Life Changes (Southampton), Olive Branch Christian Counselling Services in Winchester, NHS Surgeries in Chandlers Ford and Bereavement Counselling Charity.
I am able to empathise with people and I am a good attentive listener, with the ability to support others while they change, grow or work through a time of crisis.I am an enthusiastic, clear, honest and open communicator with an optimistic outlook and commitment to meeting the needs of individual clients, students and colleagues.
I practise in Hamble close to Junction 8 on the M27: convenient for Portsmouth, Southampton, Whiteley, Park Gate, Locks Heath, Botley, Hedge End, and surrounding area.
The 1st Session: (THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP)
The initial contact consists of 15 minutes free telephone consultation. The first appointment will be a duration of 50 minutes and thereafter. At this stage I won't take many details, this appointment is about us meeting. I believe that for you to gain the most from therapy it is important to find the right person for you to work with.
By listening attentively and patiently I can begin to perceive difficulties from your point of view and can help you to see things more clearly and possibly from a different perspective. We can decide what is the best treatment for you.
HOW MANY SESSIONS:
This will be decided between us. If you have a specific issue, we might work with a shorter contract. If you are looking for long-term therapeutic work we would work with a more open-ended contract. Again this is an area we would look at together.
I am bound by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework for Good Practice and the Professional Conduct Procedure: what you say in counselling, is strictly confidential, apart from when you intend to harm yourself or others.
