I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor working with adults, children and adolescents.
My approach integrates art making and other means of creative expression, as well as the spoken word, in supporting my clients exploring their concerns in the safety of a therapeutic relationship.
I work supporting your potential for creativity through engaging with you in a genuine dialogue and facilitating the use of creative media for you to explore at your own pace. This may be drawing, painting, clay or drumming.
Children usually use play and art making as a way to express themselves and to work through worries and concerns. Adolescents sometimes prefer talking instead of making art. I have worked with children and adolescents who have had many different life experiences and difficulties, such as abuse, school refusal, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, trauma, loss and bereavement, ADHD, Asperger and autism, disability, OCD and illness.
I have seven years pre-qualifying experience of working therapeutically with children, adolescents and parents using art and three years post qualifying. I have worked with adults, children and adolescents from many different cultures and backgrounds.
I trained in London at Terapia Centre for Integrative Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy.
