About me

Welcome. I am an experienced Core Process psychotherapist, registered with UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and also ACPP (Association for Core Process Psychotherapists).

I offer a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate listening space where I invite you to share what is concerning you. It might be a specific issue that you would like some support with such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or a more deep seated disquiet, a sense of a search for something more meaningful and deeper in your life. Sometimes we can have this feeling that 'something is wrong with me', however it is often that things have happened in our lives that have affected us. Therapy offers the possibility of trying to make sense of this. It is about exploring what has happened, what is happening now, and not, what is wrong with me.

If you are thinking about psychotherapy for the first time, or wishing to try a different type of therapy, it is important that you feel comfortable as it is the relationship between you and your therapist that is the most effective means of healing. Therefore I offer an initial meeting up to an hour which is free, where we can check out how it is to be together and look at any questions you may have around what you are seeking and hoping for in coming into therapy. If for whatever reason, I am not the right person for you, I can suggest other therapists.

Core Process psychotherapy uses a mindfulness approach which looks at how we relate to our present moment experience. We practise doing this with awareness and not judging what we notice, such as different feelings or sensations, but just allowing these to be as they are. This type of inquiry can start to free up different ways of relating to these feelings and sensations in yourself, or towards others and the environment around you.

I am bound by the Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct for Psychotherapists, as adopted by ACPP (Association for Core Process Psychotherapists).

I am bound also by the UKCP Ethical Principles and Codes of Professional Conduct, Complaints and Conduct Process.
