Emma Hughes PG Dip MBACP B.A (Hons) B.ed (Hons)
4 Queen Street
Hi my name is Emma Hughes. I am a Leeds and Selby based qualified counsellor available for individual counselling with people over 16yrs. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework.
You may be thinking of counselling because you are feeling confused or alone at the moment and are struggling to cope. During an initial meeting together we can look at what you feel is and isn't working in your life and where you would like to be by the end of our counselling sessions.
Therapy can offer you the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, empathic and non-judgemental, confidential space. You may seek short-term therapy to focus on a more specific issue or traumatic event that you have experienced such as a bereavement, divorce or job loss or you may wish to have longer term open-ended therapy to explore yourself and your relationships more deeply.
As an Integrative Counsellor I believe that there is no single therapeutic model that is effective for the range and complexity of experiences that people bring to counselling. The way I work draws on my training in a range of therapeutic approaches which informs my thinking allowing me to work in a way that is most appropriate and beneficial to my clients' needs.
I offer an introductory session for £20 which allows us to meet with each other and discuss your needs and what you hope to gain from counselling.
I work from comfortable private rooms in both Leeds City Centre and Selby Town Centre.
Both practices are easily accessed by train, car or bus (car-park nearby and parking on street).
Please note neither practice has a lift.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or queries you may have by email or phone, please leave a message if I am unable to answer the phone when you call & I will call you back as soon as possible.
Weekend (inc .Sunday) and evening appointments available at Leeds Practice.
Telephone counselling can offer you more flexibility and may be easier to fit around your life. Because there are also less costs involved it is also slightly cheaper and therefore more affordable.
If you feel you may be interested in telephone counselling we would first have a free introductory telephone conversation to see whether telephone counselling might meet your needs. Subsequent sessions are then £30 for one hour and payment is made in advance through bank transfer or pay-pal.
