I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and EMDR therapist working in York and Leeds.
I aim to work alongside you to help you to gain a greater understanding of your difficulties and make the changes you want to obtain a better quality of life. I use an integrative relational approach to therapy which draws upon evidence based approaches including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Most importantly, I believe that developing a good therapeutic relationship within a respectful and non-judgemental atmosphere is at the heart of therapeutic work. I am able to work for either a fixed period of time or on a long term basis depending on your individual needs.
I have experience of helping adults with a wide range of difficulties including trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, abuse, bereavement, alcohol addiction and personality disorder.
