Emma Alban Counselling Reg MBACP
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor, offering a professional, confidential and caring counselling service. Please contact me for further details.
...My Therapy room is based in a quiet village location and offers you the chance to relax and take some time out. I provide one-to-one counselling sessions that are down-to-earth and tailor made for you, drawing on a number of counselling approaches.
Counselling is a chance for you to put yourself first, to talk about all those difficult thoughts and feelings that you find can overwhelm not only you... but your friends, family and colleagues, however much they care and try to help. The counselling relationship is designed so you can put yourself at the centre and figure out what is going on for you, without fearing you are being demanding, needy or selfish in any way.
There is a common myth that by looking after ourselves and putting ourselves first, we are being self absorbed or selfish... but unless we look after ourselves and meet our own needs, we have less to give others, so the opposite is true, in fact. By looking after ourselves we not only feel happier but we have the capacity to give more to others around us too.
Talking therapies have been proved to improve mental health and help motivate you into making any changes you may feel you need to make in your life, or to help you become unstuck from troubling behaviours and habits that cause you unhappiness, anxiety and problems.
A counsellor is someone professionally trained to be there for you and focus on you, no matter how bad you feel your problems and issues are...to listen and enable you to release all the difficult thoughts and feelings... and to help you free yourself up to be your true and best self.
Each session is 60 minutes and counselling can be short or long term.
Contact me for further information and to book an initial appointment to discuss your individual counselling requirements. Please do leave me a message if there is no reply and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
