About me

Sometimes our past can leave us feeling stuck and dissatisfied in the here and now. We can feel lonely and isolated within our relationships with others. We can feel desperate to find a way out, but may struggle to find this path alone.

As a therapist my main drive is to stand beside clients in their journey of change, often starting in a place where people feel frightened and alone, mistrustful and hurting. I seek to enable you, strengthen your sense of self and allow you to re-connect with your drive and energy.

Using art within a safe supportive relationship can help create very powerful experiences of release and allow people to recognise their ability to change and grow and feel more alive, more free.

I have been a practising art psychotherapist for over 13 years. I am a gentle person but able to able to work with intense and complex emotions and to help create connection where there is none, to create space where there is a feeling of overcrowding and suffocation. Art Therapy is a powerful way to work with a skilled therapist, to make images, reflect on their meaning, to love them, or to sometimes destroy them. It is not important to be a good artist or to want to use the materials at every session. The art materials can be a useful 'mirror' to put your feelings outside yourself before beginning to recognise them, to be able to then think about how to move on.

Often clients find that they feel stuck and unable to create the changes they want in life to enable them to feel fully alive, free and able to embrace precious opportunities to connect deeply with others. By connecting deeply with a therapist within a safe supportive environment evidence suggests our attachment to others can grow and begin to improve.

Please feel able to call today and discuss (without obligation) what you feel your needs are so we can think together about what may help.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
