About me

Hello, my name is Emily. I am a clinical psychologist offering support to adults with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, illness & injury, and the emotional impact of health conditions. My specialist area is supporting adults in overcoming trauma and PTSD.

I also work with adults who have experienced acquired & traumatic brain injury, stroke, degenerating conditions such as Parkinson’s & Huntingdons, inflammatory illnesses including encephalitis, tumours of the brain and many others.

I would be happy to discuss with you any presenting difficulties you may be experiencing. In therapy, we will utilise a person centred approach, integrating a number of psychological approaches appropriate to your needs. Clinically, I draw on my accredited training in:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Eye Movement Desensitising and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills (DBT)
Neuropsychological Assessment & Rehabilitation

I am trained to provide specialist neuropsychological assessment and testing within the context of neurological illness and injury ( e.g. brain injury, stroke or any illness which has effected the brain). I also work with clients post injury/ illness using therapy to support neuro-rehabilitation. This might include developing strategies to support changes in cognitive and emotional functioning, or may be supporting with psychological adjustment following illness and injury. I also offer support to families and carers of those effected by neurological illness/ injury.

During our first appointment, we will have opportunity to talk about what it is that is you would like support with. We can then decide together if on-going work would be helpful. There is no obligation to continue with sessions following our first meeting.

I offer a comfortable and confidential consulting room. I work within the strict professional and ethical guidelines of both the HCPC and BPS and receive regular clinical supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Neuropsychologist, ensuring you receive the highest standard of psychological care.

As part of our consultation, we will think about how to use these models to best help address the difficulties you are facing.
