About me

Where to find me

I offer face-to face counselling and also work with clients online.  I am based in Dibden, conveniently placed near Holbury, Totton , Beaulieu and surrounding areas. I have a bespoke comfortable and private ground floor office.

I also offer life coaching which complements my counselling approach for those who are stuck or looking to revamp their life.

What to expect when you contact me

I welcome inquiries by text, email and telephone and look forward to answering any questions you may have. We will discuss what you are hoping to explore and how I will work with you.

Some people feel quite nervous about speaking out, sometimes for the first time, about personal problems and this is something I do understand. The most important person is you and you can set the pace, choose when to stop and how far you go in any session. My job is to support you and help you to feel safe as you embark on a journey of discovery about you.

If you feel that we are a good match then we can arrange a time to meet. This can be for a 30 minute no obligation free discussion so that you can make a decision about whether to proceed with counselling with me.

I am available at various times and days to suit individual needs.

Your first session

You have decided to proceed with your first counselling session.

Your initial session will take place either in my counselling room or  online, usually via Google Meet but other platforms can be used.  I ask clients to ensure they are safe and comfortable for their sessions and not likely to be interrupted or overheard.  It's also important that you feel comfortable and safe using the online platform.

The assessment begins with my taking down some details and getting a picture of your situation and agreeing timescale and cost. I will explain a little more about how I work and will ask if you have any further questions.

Following this we will begin to explore your issue.

Gestalt counselling, which is my core approach, uses a variety of ways of allowing the unconscious to express itself. I am comfortable integrating CBT, solution focused approach and can also use art, sandtray work, use of objects.

However, I will use only methods that you are comfortable with and often talking therapy is enough. Sometimes I may offer you the option of using art, objects or 2 chair work.

I use a sliding scale of charges for my service, depending on an individual's circumstances and what they can afford.

I have counselled sexual abuse survivors and worked with trauma.

Alongside this I work with relationship difficulties, self esteem issues, mental health concerns and loss and bereavement.
