Elke Marquart Counselling London
Hello, my name is Elke. I am a qualified integrative counsellor registered with BACP and ACC.
In my work, I value that everybody is unique and therefore tailor my approach to address your issues, big or small, which may cause you difficulties or distress. Depending on what you bring and how you would like to improve your experience of life, I use different techniques to explore your past or present issues. This may involve only a few brief solution focused sessions or some longer and deeper work.
I believe that counselling is team work and by coming alongside each other and being compassionately curious we can find solutions together. Hence why I aim to provide a warm, trusting and non-judgemental space, so you can feel safe to share.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 25 years of experience of working in various roles in the public and private sector before I studied for and gained a post-graduate diploma in integrative counselling (Level 5, distinction) from ECCP Earls Court Community Project.
Over the past 2 years I have gained a variety of clinical experience working with professionals, students, offenders, people with various mental health problems and complex bereavement, as well as providing emotional support on a suicide prevention hotline. This includes:
- Age specific issues
- Career problems
- Life change
- Loss and bereavement
- Low self-esteem / self-confidence
- Relationship issues
- Sexual, physical, emotional abuse and neglect
- Stress related issues
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Work-related stress
As the name 'Integrative counselling' suggests it integrates knowledge and techniques from different approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person centred, psychodynamic, systemic and others. I would use whatever best suits you to engage with the process.
It is very important however that you feel comfortable working with me. Hence why I offer an initial assessment session where we can get to know each other and decide only the next day whether you would like to work with me as your counsellor or not. If, for whatever reason, I am not the right match, I will aim to suggest some alternatives, which you are happy pursue or not.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Anger management
- Attachment disorder
- Chronic fatigue syndrome/ME
- Domestic violence
- Eating disorders
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Personality disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Relationship issues
The initial assessment session is £35.00.
Subsequent sessions are charged based upon your personal annual gross income.
- Income up to £25,000 = £35.00
- £25,001 - £30,000 = £40.00
- £30,001 - £35,000 = £45.00
- £35,001 - £40,000 = £50.00
- £40,001 - £45,000 = £60.00
- £45,001 - £50,000 = £70.00
- £50,001 - £55,000 = £80.00
- £55,001 and above = £90.00
Gross income refers to any income including salaries, wages, retirement income, investment gains, bonuses etc. before taxes are taken off. If you have no personal income, I will consider your household income instead (e.g. income of your partner, family etc.).
