Liz Jeffries MBACP
The Counselling Loft
Welcome to my profile.
My name is Liz and I am a professionally qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I believe the quality of the relationship between you and your counsellor is the most important factor in finding what you want from therapy so I will tell you a bit about me and if you like the sound of my approach then feel free to contact me using the information below to discuss a free initial session.
I think that counselling is ultimately about helping you to feel better. You may be wanting help with a particular issue, or struggling to identify exactly what is troubling you - as a Humanistic Integrative counsellor I will work with you to understand the unique way you experience the world and support you to gain a better understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Through counselling you can discover how to manage the challenges you are facing and have a healthier, happier relationship to yourself and others.
Where I work:
I work at The Counselling Loft, a private practice based in Lewes, East Sussex which has plenty of low-cost parking nearby. I offer short or long-term therapy depending on your needs and work with adults 18+. I offer daytime and evening appointments Monday-Thursday.
For more information about my practice please visit: thecounsellingloft.co.uk.
How to contact me:
If you would like to speak with me to arrange a free initial appointment you can contact me by telephone (07544 000368) or by email.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified Humanistic Integrative counsellor. I gained my Counselling Cert. and Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at Wealden Psychology Institute, on training that is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am a registered member of the BACP and am fully insured.
I work within the ethical framework of my governing body and continuously attend further professional development courses to keep my skills and practice up-to-date.
Where I have worked previously:
I have experience of providing both long and short-term therapy. I have spent two years counselling students of all ages at a further education college in Brighton and prior to this provided counselling to parents at a children’s centre in Tunbridge Wells. I have helped people struggling with a wide range of issues including anxiety, confidence, identity, life changes and relationships and supported them to find their voice at a time when they may not have the words.
Prior to becoming a counsellor I spent 3 years running a drop-in for a local women's charity. In my experience it can be difficult to take the first step in accessing support and there can be stigma about doing so. I strongly believe in all of us taking care of our mental wellbeing and aim to provide a safe and supportive environment to support you with the difficulties you are experiencing.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Chronic fatigue syndrome/ME
- Domestic violence
- Family issues
- Gender dysphoria
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
