About me
I am qualified and experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist and EMDR practitioner. I work as a Highly Specialist Psychological Practitioner in the NHS, with children with special needs and adults suffering from trauma and personality disorders. I follow an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy which gives me the ability to draw from different research-based practices and to tailor the therapeutic treatment according to your individual needs. I seek to provide safe and confidential support for individuals struggling with a wide range of issues, such as complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bereavement, phobias, BDD, OCD, emotional containment/anger, and more. Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
