About me

“To my mind, in dealing with individuals, only individual understanding will do.” (Jung)

Each of us are on our own personal journey with different and unique starting points. I believe counselling is a process that can help you understand and navigate life’s many difficulties and crisis, so that you are able to become empowered and to move forward. Ultimately it can enable you to integrate your own experiences and the many aspects of yourself.

In my therapeutic practice I work with compassion and empathy. Counselling can promote self-acceptance and skillful will, and empower people to discover and fulfil their true potential.

Each person’s narrative is different. Therefore I work integratively, which means working flexibly and using different approaches in order to meet your individual needs. Whether you feel you are stagnating and reproducing the same patterns in key aspects of your life, feeling anxious or depressed,  or you are going through a life crisis such as a relationship issue, we can explore these deeply within the space of therapy. Similarly our sessions can explore past traumas so that you may finally heal and reclaim your present and future.

In our sessions, I endeavour to be side by side with you, accompanying you without judgement whilst you explore your personal journey.

I work flexibly from my family home. I offer short and long term counselling and also offer some low cost counselling depending on availability.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis counselling (Re.Vision).

I am BACP registered and as such I abide by their ethical framework.

I am currently in training for a UKCP psychotherapy Diploma.

PGCE and BA(hons)

My previous professional experience is within education; working extensively, through coaching and mentoring, with young people and adults. As such I am well placed to fully understand the demands and stresses of the teaching profession.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
