About me

I am experienced Psychotherapist, offering professional confidential  services for Individuals, Couples and Families. I speak English and Russian.

I work both short and long term, using a variety of therapeutic approaches, depending on the clients' need.

If for any reason I am not able to help you, I would do my best to recommend alternative options or other specialists.

My style is collaborative, approachable and interactive.

I am a qualified clinical supervisor and offer supervision to psychotherapists and students.

I am an accredited member of BACP and follow its Code of Ethics. I have regular supervision of my work with a senior colleague and a regular peer supervision group.

I am a member of BPS, ICEEFT, BEFT, EMDR UK&Ireland.

Additional training and CPD:

I am interested and have had full training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, an approach that is specifically aimed at strenghtening bond between partners.

I am also one of the few people in the UK who is fully trained in the Discernment Counselling (approach that has been developed in the USA, and is targetted at couples on a brink of divorce, and is designed to help in making a choice about the next step within a set number of session).

Introductory skills training in CAT (Cognitive Analytic Therapy) and in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

I have been practicing as a psychologist, counsellor and psychotherapist in UK since 2000, working in various mental health services including NHS and in private practice.

Prior to moving on to full-time Private Practice, I have been employed as a Senior Psychotherapist in the NHS Family Therapy Service (2006-2011), working mainly with couples and adult families.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
