I started my counselling training in 2010 at Keele University, after witnessing the positive impact that therapy could have on people.
I am a Humanistic Counsellor, so our sessions together would focus on self-development, growth and responsibilities. We would acknowledge your strengths and the choices you have in the present day. My counselling style is primarily from a person-centred approach, so therapy would focus on and explore your individual self-worth and values. Being valued, without being judged, can help you to accept who you are as a person.
Although my main therapeutic style is person-centred, I can integrate additional counselling practices such as a Cognitive Behavioural Approach and some Gestalt techniques, depending upon the individual client. I welcome an open dialogue with clients, so am happy to explore and adapt according to what the two of us decide might be the best approach for you.
