About me

WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MY PROFILE.

A few thoughts about counselling:

None of us can live our lives without experiencing pain, anxiety and confusion at some time or another.

Change, new understandings and growth are possible for everyone.

Talking problems through with a counsellor is a way to unravel confusion and see things differently.

WHAT I OFFER YOU:

A commitment to working with you for your good.

An ability to meet you where you are; as an individual with unique needs.

A direct, yet warm and open hearted approach.

A wide range of life experience.

The offer of a safe and supportive relationship.

MORE PRACTICALLY:

A free initial 40 minute session.

A quiet,comfortable and private room.

Concessions for students and unemployed.

Reasonable rates.

Short or longer term work with individuals over 16 years of age.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

Whatever the problem is that you are facing or whatever issues you are needing help with I can be of service to you.

Please don't hesitate to call me if you would like to make either an initial appointment or simply talk through whether counselling is for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a professional counsellor with ten years experience and besides my private practice have been training student counsellors for several years.

I have been trained as an integrative counsellor and this has given me a rich background of theory to draw upon including person-centred, psychodynamic and transpersonal theories. I describe my approach as humanistic and relational.

I am an accredited member of BACP, having successfully completed an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I work to the BACP ethical framework and  keep myself up to date through my commitment to continuous professional development.

I have had further training as a counsellor within the field of addictions and have attended many further training courses.

As a counsellor I have worked for:

An Alcohol and Drug Agency.

A College Counselling Dept.

Fees

I am happy to offer an initial free 40 minute meeting to talk through your requirements and expectations.
