Counselling offers a safe and supportive space where you will have time to talk about things that you may be experiencing as upsetting or difficult. It could be that you are feeling low, anxious, or just not your usual self, without really understanding why. You might be struggling to find meaning in your life. Talking with a professional Counsellor may help you better understand why you are feeling this way and support you in considering, and making, changes to improve things for yourself.
- My Background:
Beginning in 2004, through to 2009, I volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care NI, providing bereavement support to both adults and young people. From 2007 onwards, I have worked within a broad range of settings: as a Schools Counsellor; a community-based Counsellor in North and West Belfast; an Affiliate Counsellor with local and International Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers, as well as having my own private practice. I spent a year counselling in Dublin, 2014/15, and since my return to Belfast, 2015/16, as an Affiliate Counsellor with Counselling all Nations Service, I provided accessible counselling support to adults from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in South and North Belfast. I continue to work within the EAP field as well as having a private practice in South and East Belfast, providing face-to-face and telephone counselling to individuals of 18 years and above.
- Finding Out More:
Counselling is a personal choice and may not be for everyone, so, if you would like to find out more about counselling and to explore if it is the best support service for you, I would be happy to meet with you for a initial consultation session to discuss this.
