The Big Questions...
Do you have questions about your life?

Are you feeling dissatisfied?
Would you like to understand more about you and your relationships with others?
Could you benefit from a place that helps you take some time for yourself?

Welcome
Firstly I want to say, well done! You have made the first step, giving yourself the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings.

I am a qualified therapist working in Nottingham and Mansfield. I take great satisfaction watching clients grow as they explore their stories discovering what lies beneath. I have found that working in a Humanistic and Integrative way is easily accessible to everybody and is warm, engaging and creative.

What Can You Expect?
In the first session we will be getting to know each a bit better, leaving plenty of time to ask questions.
During other sessions you will experience being listened to and heard, creative and engaging ways of discovering what is upsetting your equilibrium of peace. We will work out what you would like to know about you and possibly move on from.

Unlocking possibilities and unfolding new ways of being or creating more stability in your life. Exploration of your personal relationships through the use of the therapeutic relationship. I sometimes use, stones, art materials, possibly writing or other creative media that helps you to make contact with what's going on for you. I practice mindfulness with clients should this be appropriate and find the peaceful environment conducive to trying this for the first time if it is new to you.

Are you a counsellor looking for cost effective supervision?
I am working toward my Diploma in Supervision and I am looking for Counsellors and Psychotherapists to work with me.
This is an opportunity to try a new and passionate supervisor at a bargain price. Please call me if you are interested in this.

The Environment
In private practice I work from a purpose built therapy room in the garden of my home. It is a quiet, confidential and private space that is free from pressures, somewhere to talk about and explore whatever you need to in peace and without judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been trained to degree level and have a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy gained following training with The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP),
Reg.No. 148542

I have worked as a counsellor with MIND in Mansfield and Nottingham Counselling Service.
Until recently I was a clinical practitioner and coordinator for The Children's Bereavement Centre (Newark). During the three years of working with The Children's Bereavement Centre I worked with Children from 4 years old to 18 years as well as their parents and carers.
In private practice however I have decided to work only with 16 years old and upwards.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
