Profile
The thought of going to counselling can often seem a bit daunting but I hope that you will decide to take the first step towards the benefits that counselling can offer. The relief of being able to share, at your own pace, with someone who will not judge you can be a transfoming experience.
I am an experienced counsellor who was first trained in person-centred counselling and art therapy. I continued my training in integration of several models of counselling which has enabled me to offer a way of working which meets the needs and preferences of each individual client.
I have worked with men, women and young people who have experienced a variety of issues including living with loss or bereavement, depression, abuse, feelings of shame or low self-esteem, feelings of hopelessness, isolation, issues of sexuality, anger management and relationship difficulties.
My workroom is a private and comfortable space. It is not obvious to anyone passing that a person is coming to counselling as I work from a discreet counselling room in my home. I am committed to offer you acceptance, empathy, genuineness and confidentiality.
Sessions are normally 50 minutes long and take place weekly, although they can be arranged more often at especially stressful times or less often as the individual requires.
If a client wishes, I can also offer art therapy and relaxation techniques to assist in relieving blocked feelings, tension or anxiety.
