I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am currently working part time as a counsellor with a well known charity. I was a volunteer counsellor with PF Counselling for several years and I also worked with an Employee Assistance Programme for a large international company for 2 years. I previously trained and volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland. I have many years’ experience of working with families affected by addiction.
My interest in training as a counsellor was prompted by my own life experiences and time spent doing peer support work.
I would like to support you to gain more insight and knowledge about yourself to help you live a more fulfilling and creative life. I work from a person-centred perspective which means I believe each of us has the capacity to grow and develop in an attempt to reach our potential and find our own inner resources to help us cope with life's challenges. I offer a supportive and comfortable environment where personal issues can be explored safely and without judgement.
I have professional indemnity insurance and undergo regular supervision with a fully qualified supervisor.
I have daytime and evening appointments available from premises in the West End of Edinburgh.
