About me

My name is Doris Mpemba Fimpa. I am a fully qualified therapist in Advance Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Practitioner, Rewind Technique Practitioner, Supervisor and Qualified Mindfulness Teacher. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS), the British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy (BACP) and the Member of the British Association for Behavioural counselling and Psychotherapies based in Manchester. I am experienced, empathetic, and friendly.

I use the approaches of person-centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy, which give you the time and space to explore the issues that are disturbing your life. The vital thing is that will provide you with the hope that things can get better.

I am trained to work with individuals, couples, children and young people. I help individuals explore issues affecting them and find ways to improve their lives.

I give couples an environment where they can attempt to resolve conflict in their relationships. They will do this constructively and honestly with the help of me being open, empathetic and unconditionally supportive.

I offer a wide range of help with issues: mental health, depression, stress, anxiety, panic attack, post-traumatic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), general anxiety disorder, relationship issues, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, self-harm, bullying, loneliness, relationship problems, eating disorder, health issues etc.

I am a rewind technique practitioner, and I offer the Rewind Technique which helps client processes traumatic memories by involving non-verbal exposure. It treats trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias and more. It works.

I offer Hypnotherapy for insomnia, fear and phobias, weight loss, anxiety and stress, personal development, and pain management.

I specialise in the areas of road accidents for children and young people and adults.

I am a quailed bereavement and loss specialist and work with children and young people.

I offer any unique specialise service to the immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees who suffered in their homeland and struggled to come to terms with their change in circumstance, abuse, loss of their family members, trauma, loss of identity, depression, stress, anxiety etc.

I counsel clients in French, Swahili, Lingala and English.

If you are not willing to travel for your sessions for whatever reasons there are few options for you to access the sessions by WhatsApp, Facetime, webcam/Skype and telephone.

Just remember don't suffer alone - call me.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
