About me

Anxiety Expert | Stress | STOP Panic Attacks | Exam Stress | CBT | EMDR | NLP |Women's Health | Adolescence

Welcome to my profile.

Online and face to face counselling for a range of issues including, stress, low self esteem, anxiety, panic attacks and social anxiety.

Anxiety is the top reason for seeking therapeutic support.

If anxiety is becoming an issue for you, then counselling can help to manage your symptoms and change the relationship with your anxiety.  Collaboratively, we will find the right treatment for you with evidence based interventions such as CBT, EMDR, NLP and TFT.

I work with adults and teenagers to resolve and prevent the issues that have caused difficulty in your life from surfacing again. This is achieved through finding the right paths forward in honest and implementable ways.

There may be a part of your life that has caused great difficulty, but the next steps are ones of empowerment, happiness, wellbeing and success.

The people I work with describe me as a relaxed and a welcoming counsellor, with a good sense of humour when needed.

Circumstances And Experiences Do Not Define You

Adolescent

School, friends, exams, covid, climate change, social media, Instagram, TikTok, family life, self-harm, anxiety, low self-esteem and eating disorders, are to name but a few things troubling our teens. I can create a safe space for you to talk about your issues with no judgement. Therapy can help improve mental health, increase confidence, improve school performance, help with relationships and boost self-esteem.

“I have improved my communication skills with my parents and this has made a massive impact on my anxiety. I can not remember the last time I had a panic attack. You have really helped me gain my confidence back and feel happy!”

Women's Health and Menopause Counselling & Support Services

During a time when your body is undergoing so many changes, it is crucial to take care of your mental health too.

Through the one-to-one support I offer, you can learn strategies that practically help with menopause symptoms so that you gain back control of your thoughts and feelings.

Free Consultation

It’s important to find the right fit for you when you decide to seek counselling or therapy. With this said, if you are considering my services I’d like to offer a free 15-minute consultation.

If you would like to book a consultation with me, do so by visiting https://www.donnamorgancounselling.co.uk/.

I offer a chance to authentically connect without the formality you might feel apprehensive about. My clients often talk about an increase in confidence and the opportunity to be open in ways that allow them to lead a more positive life for themselves and with those around them.

Since 1995, I have been working with clients from a wide range of circumstances and I practice a variety of counselling techniques. I have been very lucky to train with Paul McKenna, Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP) and Roger Callahan (creator of TFT Thought Field Therapy).

If you would like to move past difficult life stages, experiences or feelings and enjoy more happiness in your life, call or send me a message and together we’ll create a plan that’s right for you.

I am currently providing sessions  in person, via Zoom online or Phone.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Managing Menopause

The average age of the menopause is 51, but the start of the peri menopause is on average 41 years of age. This can be younger.

Our menopause support program is a non-medical intervention delivered through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The course is developed on evidential research by a clinical physiologist and through the efficacy of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

It is developed for people who are experiencing menopausal symptoms due to a natural or a medical menopause and regardless of age.

It works for women who are currently using HRT, or those who cannot use HRT for medical reasons, or do not want to. The courses are delivered to provide techniques and tools to empower sufferers to manage their symptoms associated with the menopause. Women report anxiety, stress, hot flushes and insomnia as their top concerns.

The program helps users learn strategies to control their thoughts and feelings. We provide day time courses and evening courses. They are run over a six week cycle and each session lasts two hours. There is work required in-between each session for maximum results.

At present, all our courses are run online via Zoom. We will be offering face to face courses in London and the South East once we have permission from Health England, but will continue our online courses as well.

HOW I WORK:

Humanistic Counselling

Counselling is a helping process that takes place in an atmosphere of acceptance, respect and trust.

Thought Field Therapy

Using the TFT tapping technique on established meridians and acupressure points you can simply eliminate emotional blocks and psychological barriers.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP has dynamic techniques that are quick, easy, and can enable you to feel great, change unwanted behaviours, remove unnecessary stress and anxiety, allow you to master your emotions and empower you to reach your full potential.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

Navigating life's challenges requires a blend of resilience, understanding and sometimes, specialised therapeutic interventions.

That's where EMDR can be a game-changer. As a trained and dedicated counsellor, I'm proud to offer EMDR as one of my specialisations.

EMDR is an evidence-based approach designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Using structured techniques, I assist clients in reprocessing these memories, facilitating healing and fostering a renewed sense of calm and clarity.

Whether you're seeking support for past traumas or looking for innovative approaches to enhance your therapeutic journey, EMDR could be a transformative step forward.

Let's explore the possibilities and chart a path towards healing together.
