About me
Hello, I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist in the UK and in the USA, and I bring over 30 years' extensive experience in the field of Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Mental Health working with individuals in need. I offer a professional and thoughtful approach to guide you through difficult emotional experiences.
In addition to working in Private Practice, I have also held a number of Clinical Management positions, including Senior Director roles on a National and International scale. With this level of experience, I am able to provide confident and skilled Counselling and Psychotherapy to help you with reactions and symptoms, and to help you navigate unexpected events or life changes.
Finding the focus of your problem is very important, as I can tailor the right type of assistance to support you in your growth and personal development. This can include short, medium, or long-term intervention.
I believe that therapy should provide you with both the insight into what is happening within you (gaining self-understanding), but also work closely with you to resolve the issues at hand, and improve your overall well-being.
My Approach
I offer Counselling and Psychotherapy in Leamington Spa for a variety of problems including: Anxiety, Depression, Panic, Sleep Problems, Stress, Bereavement, Adjustment Problems, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Paranoia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Self-Esteem, Social and Performance Anxiety, and Anger Management. I use a unique combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Solution-Focused, and Systemic therapies; all shown to help individuals move forward in times of difficulty.
I am skilled at providing a thorough assessment of your needs in order to offer you treatment that will be tailored to you as a unique individual, and that will take into account your unique situation. My approach is collaborative and dynamic and solution-focused. Additionally, I am adept at identifying deeper and more complex issues that may be causing your distress - those that are hindering you from moving forward with your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified to Masters level and have obtained two Masters degrees in addition to my Bachelors. My post-graduate supervision and qualification process has been quite extensive and has resulted in the award of Accreditation/Registration with the BACP in the UK, and Licensure with the Washington State Department of Health in the USA.
In addition to the educational and professional qualifications, I bring a special mix of experience of over 30 years working with clients in Private Practice, in Mental Health settings, and in agencies offering Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am confident in my approach and in my understanding of psychological and emotional problems, and I aim to be sensitive to clients' unique needs.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
