About me

Hello I'm Diane, as a professional counsellor I provide a safe, empathic, non judgmental and confidential environment in which you can share and explore whatever may be troubling you.   By listening and paying special attention to what you are saying I gain insight into your world,   together we unravel any confused thoughts, feelings and beliefs, helping you to develop a greater understanding of yourself, your life and your relationships, empowering you to take control over your future.

I am available to work with Adults, Couples, Young People, Children from the age of 10 years and Older People, I have comfortable and relaxing Counselling room Louth.

I have over 10 years experience, which equals thousands of counselling hours and I am experienced and trained in a wide range of Counselling issues such as:- Trauma, PTSD, Abuse (recent or historic), depression, anxiety, stress (inc work related), Couples and relationships, bullying, family issues, divorce, separation, low self esteem & confidence and many others.

I am also an Eating Disorder Master Practitioner/Therapist working with those affected by:- Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge Eating, Obesity and other forms of Disordered Eating, I also work with the carers and loved ones of those who are affected by Eating disorders.

I work with clients from all across Lincolnshire such as Lincoln, Louth, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Market Rasen, Tealby, Caistor, Mablethorpe, Horncastle, rural areas and many other areas across the UK.

Experience
I have gained extensive counselling experience through my client’s in both my private practice and a variety of settings such as:- Psychiatric Hospitals, Prison, Low secure unit, Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, Residential Addiction Treatment Centre, YMCA, ISAS (Incest & Sexual Abuse Survivors), Rape Crisis, Women’s Aid, Sure Start Centres,  CASY (Care & Support for Young People) and Schools.

Professional Memberships
I am a Registered member of BACP British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
