About me

I am a psychotherapist and counsellor working in the Haringey/Enfield area.

Often people seek counselling because of a problem that won't go away or that keeps repeating.

Whatever is troubling you, just talking to someone impartial in a confidential environment can be an enormous relief in itself.

I provide a safe space in which I encourage an exploration of your difficulties and the wider context of your experience. This is because it is understood that making sense of a person's whole experience, often including their past, is the way to make sense of how specific problems may have arisen in the first place.

With a better understanding, a person can move towards change and break the cycle of repetition.

I work with the following issues:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Bereavement, separation and loss
  • Low self-esteem
  • Social anxiety
  • Sexual problems

Training, qualifications & experience

BSc(hons) Psychology (UCL)
Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Counselling (WPF)
MA in Psychoanalytic Studies (WPF/University of Roehampton)

I am a full member of both FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy & Counselling) and BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and adhere to their codes of ethics and professional conduct.

As well as my private practice, I have worked both in the NHS and charitable organisations in a short term capacity, so have experience with short term work as well as open-ended. I am also trained in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) which is the NHS IAPT approved short term, 16 week, psychodynamic therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
